Create a drip edge along your roof’s edges. The edges are by far the most vulnerable part of the roof when it comes to leaks and water damage, and the drip edge can help maintain proper drainage. In order to keep the drip edge secured, it’s bent, then cut so that it fits precisely around the edges of the roof. Nails are positioned on the roof every 12 to 16 inches.
Then comes the felt it is a layer of protection which helps to keep temperature and air conditioning in the home and prevent the entry of water. The felt is laid out and is then covered with caps made of plastic. The roof crest is covered with a second layer of felt across the entire.
The starter strip will be installed before the shingles are attached. The starter strip is a further layer of protection to the roof’s edges as well as the shingles. They are laid out in an overlapping pattern to ensure full coverage.
